Russia to attract 94 bln rbl for single-industry towns by 2020
MOSCOW, Nov 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s fund for development of single-industry towns and reginal authorities plan to raise more than 94 billion rubles of private investments by 2020 and create about 30,000 jobs there, the fund said in a statement on Thursday.
As of today, the fund has signed agreements and is working with 17 single-industry towns, and the fund also signed co-financing agreements with five towns – Nadvoitsy, Naberezhnye Chelny, Anzhero-Sudzhensk, Krasnoturyinsk and Yugra – and plans to attract 30 billion rubles more of investments and create about 9,000 jobs in the cities by 2020.
Russia has 319 single-industry towns. Social and economic condition of 95 of them is very poor.
